Concussion Education
As part of the growing trend to educate our players, parents and coaches of the importance of recognition and care for head injuries, the Renegades will be introducing a new concussion policy. This policy will adhere to upcoming Illinois State laws and PDRMA Insurance protocols. It will include strict return to play guidelines, parent and player education materials and on-ice/bench information for coaches to regognize when a skater may have a concussion.

To help ensure the health and safety of young athletes, CDC developed the Heads Up: Concussion in Youth Sports initiative to offer information about concussions to coaches, parents, and athletes involved in youth sports. The Heads Up initiative provides important information on preventing, recognizing, and responding to a concussion.

If you think your athlete has sustained a concussion…   don’t assess it yourself.     Take him/her out of play,   and seek the advice of a health care professional.

Click on the link to the left "Concussion Info" to view all of the Renegade information, including parent and player material, return to play guidelines, videos and more

Congratulations to all of our Renegade teams for a fantastic 2011-2012 season

Why we do it this way

Ever wonder why we run things the way we do?  Listen to the Don Lucia speech from the Minnesota coaches symposium. Don is the University of Minnesota Div 1 head coach.  Pretty interesting comments coming from a Division 1 College coach.
