The proposed rule change will move the age of legal body checking in games from 12+Under (Pee Wee) to 14+Under (Bantam). The following materials will answer your questions about the rule change proposal.

This video is from USA Hockey explaining the reasons why if passed, body checking will move to start at Bantams. Body contact will still be allowed at Peewees and even Squirts, as a way to better prepared players for checking at Bantams.  The focus is put on angling player into the board and taking away time and space.
