About 1,000 fans showed up to show their support Friday, February 23, and enjoyed watching the USA Sled Hockey Team and the Sled Development Team take to the ice. Here are some highlights! If you missed it, or want to come back out, they play their second game tonight, 8pm at West Meadows.
The USA National Sled Hockey Team, that will compete for the Gold Medal at the Paralympics Games in PyeongChang, South Korea in mid-March, played it's first of two exhibition games with the USA Sled Development team on Friday, February 23. They will play their second game at 8:00 pm Saturday, February 24, at the West Meadows Ice Arena.
The USA National Sled Team have been residing here in Bloomingdale, Illinois as part of a residency program training on and off the ice since January 1st and will continue to do so until they depart on March 1 for South Korea. The USA team has won the Gold Medal in the last three of four Paralympic games.
There is a small admission charge of $5.00 per person. 100% of the proceeds goes to the team to help them offset the costs for their families to attend the games in South Korea to see their sons compete. Donations are also accepted!
