Hockey Tot

Due to updated mitigation rules for COVID-19, we have delayed the start of registration for the winter session of Hockey Tot.
Please check back as we will update this page once we have additional information and registration opens.
Participants of the fall session of Hockey Tot will also receive an email when
new information on the winter session becomes available.

Winter Hockey Tot is a 10 class session that starts the week of January 4 and ends the week of March 8.
All participants and parents will need to follow COVID-19 safety guidelines.
Here is important information you need to know prior to registering for and attending class:

Classes begin January 4.

  • Registration for Hockey Tot is online only.  No walk in registrations allowed.   If you register on a wait list you may not come to class unless we contact you that you have been moved off of the wait list.
  • You must complete the electronic COVID waiver prior to attending the first class.  The link to the waiver is located on this page. If you have signed the electronic COVID waiver for a previous class session you do not need to complete it again.
  • Participants must be fully dressed for class when they arrive (if your child does not have hard plastic skate guards, to wear their skates into the building, skates can be put on after arriving).  You will not be able to dress your child in their gear after arriving.
  • Participants can only register for one class day.  Because we currently have to limit the amount of participants in each class (20 maximum) we ask that you only register for one class per week to allow availability for others to register for a class.  If you are interested in registering for a second class, and spots are available after classes begin, please contact West Meadows Ice arena and we will assist you in enrolling in an additional class.
  • Because of restrictions to building attendance, due to COVID-19, parents are currently not allowed in the building during class. One parent is allowed to enter the building to assist their child with their skates, if needed, but must then exit the building until class ends.
  • Please be aware that if class numbers are low, it will be cancelled.

Please see below for information regarding equipment for class.  If you do not have skates, a hockey helmet (with face mask) or hockey stick for class you will need to select and pay an additional rental fee for these items when you register.

  • SKATES:  If your child needs skates you can select the $10 "Skate Rental Fee" when you register for class.  This fee is to cover the cost of sanitizing skates after each use. Participants will still get skates from the skate rental room prior to class and return them to the class instructor after class.
  • HELMETS (required for class): If your child needs a hockey helmet you can select the $10 "Helmet Rental Fee" when you register for class.  Families take the helmet home and keep it until the session ends in March.  If you are renting a helmet you will receive it the first day of class.
  • HOCKEY STICKS: NO CHARGE. You are able to borrow a hockey stick, if your child is ready to skate with one.  Please see class instructor when you arrive for class if you need one.
  • All equipment will be given out the first day of class, so please arrive just a few minutes earlier.
